I was in Madrid when Spain obliterated Russia 3-0 (I think; I was busy working on the OpenSolarisDay preso –that’s another post on deck– at the hotel while the game was on TV). That meant a ticket for Spain to the finals against Germany and the chance to break a 44-year curse. We barely caught that match as we rolled into Valencia from Madrid on Sunday. Yes, we watched it, and, mind you, I understand nothing about soccer, but it was a fantastic match. The kids ruled the game and I genuinely felt the excitement and the tension until the very end. Thursday night was chaotic enough. Riding the metro on my way to meet Vero at the train station was a crazy undertaking. Sunday was armageddon, tho we were exhausted and chose to go home. I’m guessing a ton of people did not make it to work on Monday. In any event, congrats to the team. Well, yes, congrats to us (the royal us).
